Our long term ambition for pupils

Our long term ambition is for our pupils to grow to become as independent as possible as adults, to gain employment and to be equipped with the skills they need to move on to the next phase of their education. Our curriculum targets priority goals in social communication and emotional regulation. Everything we do at Hinderton is designed to facilitate competence in these areas.

Our focus is of course on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Primary phase of our children’s education. However, we feel it is our duty to work with families to consider the ‘bigger picture’ in terms of our duty to to work toward the much longer term aim of success in the secondary and independent adulthood phases of the lives of our pupils.

Throughout each school year at Hinderton, class teams have a clear picture of where they are aiming for in terms of progress with pupils, and we work closely with families to ensure parents are clear about what we can expect from their child if we work together to maximise the progress they can make each term.
