Blue class using Numicon

In Blue class we have been exploring the wonderful Maths resource Numicon. In our Maths lessons we have been using the Numicon shapes to help us to learn to count from 1-10. We have been playing with the Numicon in play-dough, foam, sand and exploring the different colours and shapes of each number. The children have been encouraged to count the holes in each of the Numicon shapes and to use the Numicon pegs to help them to count with 1:1 correspondence. The children are getting more confident with using the Numicon and it has been helping to improve their fine motor skills.
