Chinese New Year

The children in Green class have been learning about Chinese New Year this week. We have explored China as a country, including locating it on a map and comparing it's size to the U.K. We heard about how the festival is celebrated and enjoyed taking part in lots of activities such as: making Chinese New Year cards, creating sensory 'firework' art using scented play-dough, practising scissor skills to make red gift envelopes, exploring and tasting Chinese foods, 'sweeping' out bad luck from our classroom to welcome in the new year, and taking part in our own 'dragon dance'!
