In History this term we are exploring Ancient China, particulars the Shang Dynasty, so we were particularly interested in finding out about Chinese New Year. We learnt that 2016 is the year of the monkey, and engaged in lots of crafts during the week, including: constructing a Chinese dragon, learning the story of the thirteen animals and their race, writing/mark making using Chinese numbers and symbols and lots of art and craft. We learnt how Chinese New Year is celebrated and joined other classes in Key Stage 2 for a fun afternoon of food tasting, crafts and dragon dances!
