In Green Class this week we have been very busy learning all about England's national day celebrated on the 23rd April every year, St George's Day! We discovered that St George is the patron saint of England, and that his emblem, a red cross on a white background, is the flag of England and part of the British flag. We really enjoyed hearing about how St George was meant to have fought a dragon! Since St George is mostly pictured as a knight on a horse, carrying a shield with a red cross and slaying a dragon, we decided to make our own shields and write on names on them in glitter... it was lots of fun!
