We are coming to the end of the 2014-2015 academic year, and everyone at Hinderton has been enjoying the warm summer sunshine. It has been a memorable and inspiring end to the year. I was particularly happy with the turnout (and the weather) at our recent Family Picnic. Special thanks must go to Clare Jones for organising the event, and to Fiona Willetts for the idea of a free picnic. Feedback from parents and friends of Hinderton attending was that it was the most relaxed and stress-free event and that everyone enjoyed the additional green space to relax in, now that we have our new extended grounds fully available to use.
We have also been delighted with our National Autistic Society Accreditation report. You can read the full report by clicking here
I am so proud of the achievements of the whole team which are rightly praised in the report.
There has been a wonderful feel about the school this term, with Rounders matches involving Red and Purple classes as wonderful outdoor water play sessions in which we had up to three classes at a team playing and enjoying each other's company, which represents remarkable progress.
Parents evening was also a very moving occasion this term. It was wonderful to speak to so many parents glowing with happiness at the progress that their child has made this term, ranging from saying their first words, to making the big move to mainstream school.
We have also made some very strong new appointments to the school team:
Jane McDonald, Barbara Jones and Sharon Tunstall will be joining us as part of the Teaching Assistant team, having previously worked in school in different capacities as supply staff and as Mid Day Assistants.
We are confident that our team will go from strength to strength in 2015-2016.
On Monday 20th July we will have our annual Fun Afternoon where we share sporting activities across the school. This is also an opportunity for our new parents to come to meet everyone.
