Hi everyone, welcome back and a 'Happy New Year' to you all. The children have settled really well back into class and have been hard at work this week.
The children have been hearing about the life and works of the artist Jackson Pollock. We have created several pieces of art in the same style he used. To start, we used an interactive 'Paint a Jackson Pollock' program and made 'splat' marks using the interactive whiteboard (IWB). Then using the 2 Simple Paint program, we were able to make 'splashes' of colourful marks on the IWB which was very effective and great fun to do. We then painted in the style of Jackson Pollock by 'dripping' paint onto paper. We used white paint on black paper as our topic this term is 'Light and Dark'. It was a very messy activity, but lots of fun!
