The children celebrated Hanukkah by making a happy Hanukkah picture and baking a Hanukkah pastry. A few weeks ago, the children created and decorated a box with the Star of David in design technology. They used their decorated box to place their Hanukkah pastries in. The children rolled our puff pastry and used star cutters to cut out shapes. They then brushed the pastries with beaten egg and sprinkled sugar on them. For the picture, the children painted their hands blue to make hand prints to create the image of a Menorah. They used their fingerprints (dipped in yellow paint) to represent the flames on top of the candles on the menorah.
